A THOUSAND AND ONE NIGHTS

Whether "Luzie" is a magic lamp, like the one in the story of Aladdin, has yet to be proven. What is certain is that its glowing crown of flames conjures up a nostalgically beautiful atmosphere in the balmy summer evening.Oil lamps are associated with the ancient Orient and European antiquity. The fact is that they are the oldest artificial source of light known to mankind. Their predecessors were flat stone bowls filled with animal fat, with a wick made of plant fibres in a groove; later, scraps of cloth were used for this purpose. With the Romans, oil lamps made of clay or even metal became a mass product, which was not to change in the course of their history until the invention of the petroleum lamp in the middle of the 19th century. Today, oil lamps are rare, yet they still have an illuminating effect, also in terms of sustainability - they are a sensible alternative to the environmentally harmful and fast-burning tea lights. A beautiful, simple interpretation of an oil lamp is "Luzie" by Less'n'more. It burns by means of vegetable oil, is refillable and can be closed drip-tight and easily transported thanks to the handle-bow bottle - just like the beer bottle technique. Now then: plop, light and burn for romance.
